CALGARY SEARCH AND RESCUE ASSOCIATION
The Calgary Search and Rescue Association (CalSARA) was established two
years ago with the mandate of providing trained personnel
capable of
assisting local agencies in
all aspects of search and rescue for missing
and/or injured subjects. In addition, CalSARA has also provided trained
volunteers for many community events .
CalSARA is a volunteer, non-profit, registered charity whose very
existence is dependent upon ordinary citizens from all walks of life
making a commitment to join and be trained in this capacity.
Additionally, we depend heavily on private and corporate sponsorship to
allow us to continue to provide first rate service.
Financial and monetary donations aside, the following is a list of
equipment that may better our organization.
- Vehicles including trucks, vans, buses and cube vans.
- All terrain vehicles including Quads, Motorcycles and mountain bikes
with subsequent trailers and safety equipment.
- Silva Compasses.
- Global Positioning System Units.
- Night Vision Devices.
- Radios including handsets and base station or mobile units.
- Safety harnesses for rope work.
- Ropes and/or climbing equipment.
We would gladly promote any organization that saw fit to supply a
donation by means of displaying their logo and mentioning them in various
key memorandums or by any other means that can be arranged mutually. As
well a tax deductible receipt would be issued.
