Making any screen image into wallpaper on a PC using
Windows
It's simple!
- Just get the image on the screen in its original application - say
Mosaic or Netscape.
- 'Maximize' the window to make it as large as you want it -- if
possible.
- Press the Print Screen key. This 'copies' the image to the
Windows clipboard.
- Go to Paintbrush and open a new document with the correct image
size and colour attributes.
- 'Paste' the image from the clipboard. You may have to make a few
tries to get things the way you like.
- Play with the image until you get it the way you want it. You'll have
to 'select', 'cut' and 'paste' the portion of the original screen that you
want to keep into a new document, because the button bars etc. from the original application will be in the image
you first 'paste' from the clipboard.
- 'Save' the image to a new bitmap file in the Windows directory.
- Go to the Windows Control Panel and open the
desktop icon.
- Scroll the wallpaper files until you see your new file.
- Click OK to close the box and then close Control
Panel.
You should now see your new wallpaper -- if there is no application
covering it up. If so, 'minimize' all your windows.
