Licking County Artists

Welcome to the Licking County Artist's Exhibition. The Ohio State University at Newark, Art Gallery shows the works of Licking County Artists annually. This county in rural Ohio produces many types of art that is mostly done on a local level. Many of the artists could be called semi-professional where many of the works are created in their own spare time and on long winter evenings. Somewhat sheltered from the art world of the East and West Coast as well as other renknowned centers such as Chicago or Minneapolis and St. Louis, production and creation continues in their own unique way.

This exhibition is intended to further the arts in Licking County, Ohio and give the local artists the chance and opportunity to exhibit their works in a university gallery setting. Through this the awareness of the arts on a local level are enhanced and aid the artists' oevre.

The advisory board and curator of the Art Gallery have chosen the following artists for exhibition:

Keli Eckroat, Stanley Wrzyszczynski, Richard D. Putnam, Marilyn G. Stocker, Bernice Siefert, Robert Grove, Patricia Eagan, Christopher Wilson, Brenda Barrett Mason, Jack McCord and Frank Edie.

Every one of these artists creates art on a regular basis and the choice for selecting works was extremely hard this time. The amount of work to be displayed was overwhelming. Each artist had three works chosen for this exhibition.
