B Leonard Holman, MD, is Chairman of Radiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Philip H Cook Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. His clinical specialty is nuclear medicine with an emphasis on blood flow measurement. His research interests include SPECT imaging of the brain in dementia and drug abuse.
Like Dr Holman, all trainees and faculty members in the Brigham and Women's Hospital Department of Radiology also have an appointment at Harvard Medical School. The staff comprises over 50 physicians, 7 physicists, and 15 basic scientists. Trainees include 30 residents and 40 fellows.

Dr Meyer is Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. Thomas H Frenna, MD, is the BWH director of the mammography service and Instructor in Radiology at Harvard Medical School.
Harry Z Mellins, MD, Professor of Radiology, and Dr Faye C Laing, Associate Professor of Radiology, direct resident education and training.
S James Adelstein, MD, PhD, is the founder and director of the Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine, which provides multiinstitutional training for residents in nuclear medicine. At Harvard, Dr Adelstein is the Paul C Cabot Professor of Medical Biophysics and Executive Dean for Academic Programs, Faculty of Medicine.
Norman K Hollenberg, MD, PhD, is Professor of Radiology and director of the division of physiologic research. His specific interests lie in the pharmacologic causes of disease, including hypertension and other blood flow disturbances.
Barbara N Weissman, MD, directs the bone radiology service and is the vice chairman responsible for ambulatory radiology throughout the Department. She is Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. Piran Aliabadi, MD, Associate Professor of Radiology, directs the division of quality management and emergency room services.
Ferenc Jolesz, MD, Associate Professor of Radiology, directs the Division of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Clare MC Tempany, MD, Assistant Professor of Radiology, directs clinical magnetic resonance imaging of the body.
Krishna Kandarpa, MD, PhD, and Michael F Meyerovitz, MBBCh, are codirectors of cardiovascular and interventional radiology. Each is Associate Professor of Radiology. Dr Joseph F Polak, Associate Professor of Radiology, directs noninvasive vascular imaging.
Robert D Pugatch, MD, Associate Professor of Radiology, directs the chest radiology service.
Steven E Seltzer, MD, Associate Professor of Radiology, and John M Braver, MD, Assistant Professor of Radiology, direct the abdominal imaging service. Dr Stuart G Silverman, Assistant Professor of Radiology, is head of the cross-sectional intervention service as well as coordinator of genitourinary radiology.
Amir Zamani, MD, Assistant Professor of Radiology, directs the neuroradiology service. Richard B Schwartz, MD, PhD, is assistant director and Assistant Professor of Radiology. Peter M Doubilet, MD, PhD, and Carol B Benson, MD, codirect the ultrasound service. Each is an Associate Professor of Radiology.
