Welcome to the University of California, Irvine ("UCI"). This is the
Home Page for our Campus-Wide Information System (CWIS). You can also
use this page to reach information about UCI that is housed both in our
(CWIS) Gopher server and
throughout the rest of the World Wide Web (WWW).
Situated between Los Angeles and San Diego counties, the UCI campus lies
amid the rapidly growing residental communities and dynamic multinational
business and industrial complexes of Orange County, California. The
county is home to some 2.3 million people, 103,000 of whom live in the
City of Irvine, a 24-year-old master-planned community designed by the
late architect William Pereira, who also designed the UCI campus.
