Welcome to FIT - the GMD Institute for Applied Information Technology

FIT is one of eight research institutes of GMD. It was founded in 1983. The institute is located entirely in SchloƟ Birlinghoven near Bonn. Currently, FIT is organized as three research groups:

Cooperation Systems (CSCW)

with 30 employees (Director: Dr. Peter Hoschka),

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

with 40 employees (Director: Prof. Dr. Thomas Christaller), and

Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)

with 30 employees (Director: Prof. Dr. Alfred Kobsa).
