Michael graves Joins Silicon Graphics As Vice President and Chief Information Officer

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California (April 3, 1995) --Silicon Graphics Inc. (NYSE: SGI) today announced that Michael Graves has joined the company as vice president and chief information officer. He will be responsible for the management of Silicon Graphics worldwide information systems and will report directly to Ken Coleman, senior vice president of Administration.

"One of Graves' primary responsibilities will be the implementation of Silicon Graphics next-generation of core business systems," says Coleman. "This project will take our worldwide information systems capabilities to a higher level by implementing a set of fully integrated Oracle applications on Silicon Graphics equipment. These systems will support the sales administration, manufacturing and finance organizations of our rapidly expanding worldwide business.

"The diversity and depth of Graves' experience with advanced information systems gives him the background needed to manage this and other key information systems projects intended to support our planned growth."

Prior to joining Silicon Graphics, Graves was senior vice president at Conner Peripherals. During a 26-year career, Graves has also held information systems positions with Sun Microsystems, Bedford Associates, National Semiconductor, Control Data Corporation and EDS. Graves holds a bachelor's of education and math degree from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas.
