On the eighth day half the country took to the streets to protest the dismantelment of the public services' and the boulevards from Republique to Bastille were filled by those who abstained May 1st.
Today, on the ninth day, SNCF's train workers took a walk.
The good part about it for Mr Alexandre Werkoff, 26, waiting for a suburban train to Paris, was that the sun was shining; and he came prepared, with a Gameboy to pass the time.
The other good part of a SNCF strike, is that there are no ticket inspectors. Of course, this is bad for monthly ticket holders because they get no refund. But, if a train does come, for everyone else it's a free ride.
And for travelers passing through France, the high-speed TGV service was reported to be operating normally.
