Paris:- Saturday, 15 April 1995 - Uwe Schmidt and companion Petra Pfeiffer paused a moment during their short and busy Easter weekend in Paris to talk to this reporter on Saturday.

This Easter is Petra's second visit to Paris; but Uwe said he had been here many times before. "Paris dosen't change much; you can always recognise it," Uwe said. The couple, from Dietzenback near Frankfurt am Main, flew into Paris on Friday; thereby escaping my dilligent watch on train stations and bus parks.

As the sparce rain from a very grey sky began to fall, Uwe observed that the weather had been better in Frankfurt. They did not seem to be discouraged at the prospect of a damp weekend; Paris damp is not really a deterrent when there are so many things to do inside such as eat, drink and, as little as possible, sleep.

Neither Uwe nor Petra could tell me about Fritzl from Germany; mainly because I forgot to ask them, but possibly because Germany is much larger than it used to be and has that many more Fritzls. Could that mean that I am looking for more than one? Tired feet took me to Gare St. Lazare as Uwe and Petra put down their hoods and headed into the wind towards the Marais.
