The following are photographs I took while in Paris in 1978.
Probably many things have changed since then, but I'm certain many
of these images capture a subset of Paris culture that is still viable today.
My personal commentary accompanies each image. [DISCLAIMER]
You will note that for some images I cannot pinpoint the location.
Perhaps you can answer the questions I pose?
[ACKNOWLEDGEMENT]
This is a street scene in an old section of town, probably near St-Ouen.
A bucolic fishing scene in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne.
And other storefront photos.
The ubiquitous food form of Paris! I enjoyed photographing food, eating food and photgraphing people eating food in Paris.
Very cliché image in the Jardin des Tuileries.
A still life with VOV (What is VOV anyway?)
A couple of bridges, night and day.
Street life and shenanigans a la Place G. Pompidou.
I hope it is evident that I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Paris. Also, I found Parisians to be very friendly and interesting, which is why I took so many photographs of them and their city!
I am interested in comments from Parisians regarding my photographs and the questions I pose. Also, if you take exception to any of my comments, please do not hesitate to send me a message (no flames, please!). Thank you.
I'd also like to thank Norman Barth for his encouragement and generous donation of space on this wonderful Paris WWW server!
