Ordinary CitizensTogether with the FFI, ordinary citizens filled the gaps and manned the barricades. In the image above, a women wearing a German helmet, with another patriot, stand watch.
The barricades were also built mostly by ordinary citizens.
Anything at hand was used including cobblestones (very popular),
cars, trees (as here), and sand bags.
