As a non-commercial host, ECHO demonstrates the benefits of using electronic information services in business, by offering free of charge access to more than 20 online databases in all Community languages.

Databases accessible on ECHO
ECHO databases cover five main areas: user guidance, Community Research and Development, industry and economy, and the language industry. Currently, these databases are available to you through the TELNET access to the ECHO host. You can register online and obtain your own personal password. Just log in with the public password ECHO, and select option 9 (online registration) from the ECHO Main Menu.
Have a look at the Gateway from WWW to EURODICAUTOM, the multilingual online dictionary of the Translation Services of the EC. This gateway has been developed at the University of Frankfurt, and it is in an experimental stage.

ECHO operating hours

ECHO is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Note: interruptions may occur Friday mornings, from 6:00 to 9:00 hrs C.E.T., for maintenance reasons.
