These three frames show the impact site of the final fragment of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 on Jupiter, observed at 08:14 UT on 22 July. In order from left to right, the frames show immediately before, at peak brightness and a few minute after. The middle frame is affected by variatons in sky brightness due to fluctuations in the cloud cover at the time of the observation.
