Fragments A, C and E+F impact sites

Observatorio Astronomico Nacional, MEXICO

Image taken on July 18 at 3.54 UT on the 2.1m telescope at the OAN with the IR camera `Camila' (Nicmos II type) at 2.2 microns. The three spots are, left to right resp., the impact sites C, A and E+F. The bright spot on the right of Jupiter is the Great Red Spot.

Compare with the two images `in phase' by:
Keck, taken 10 hrs before and showing only the impact A and C, at 3,5 microns.
HST, taken 10 hrs after and showing the same three impact sites in blue and far UV.
