Radiology Grand Rounds

The Brigham and Women's Hospital Department of Radiology sponsors special lectures on two Tuesdays each month. These lectures are often given by visiting professors but may also be given by Department faculty.

Visiting Professors

Throughout the academic year, visiting professors are invited to spend a day in the Department and to deliver Radiology Grand Rounds in the Bornstein Family amphitheater. These individuals may be members of the Boston medical community or out-of-town guests from medical schools across the country. Their talks cover all subspecialties of radiology and many of the latest advances in the fields.

Visiting Radiologists

Once a week during the academic year, an outside radiologist leads a conference for residents and fellows, bringing interesting and instructive cases encountered in private practice. Most of these visitors are former residents or fellows from our Department who now practice in community hospitals around New England.

Named Lectures

Eminent physicians are invited each year to give the Merrill C Sosman Lecture and the Herbert L Abrams Lecture, in honor of two former Department chairmen. Apart from giving the lecture itself, each speaker spends at least a day in the Department.

Ethics Rounds

Once a month a medical or surgical clinician, a radiologist and an ethicist are invited to discuss a specific ethical dilemma. The dilemmas are drawn from clinical practice here at Brigham and Women's Hospital and are chosen to illustrate a specific ethical issue.
