The SMN tries to develop unbiased and strict discussion procedures. This promotes objectivity and a systematic approach, making the network credible, so that its recommendations will be taken seriously by governments, the corporate sector, and NGOs. The SMN consists of a number of Disciplinary and Theme Groups. The SMN Group Directory gives an up to date overview of the existing groups.
