The fully expanded board takes up to two PCI slots. Thanks to the direct local connection between the different modules, the MacPicasso 540 allows to reach speeds never seen with seperated stand alone products.

MacPicasso 540 baseboard provides:

ultra fast 128bit graphics acceleration, it is able to work with millions of colors up to 1152x870 (21") and provides a top resolution of 1600x1200 at thousands of colors and full gamma correction
multiple screens and screen flipping
supports seperated sync, composite sync, sync-on-green
embedded graphics acceleration is provided for QuickDraw 2D and QuickTime (QuickDraw 3D with the 3D module).

Pablo II encoder module

The Pablo II video encoder allows to have, at the same time, an Y/C video output and a monitor output, in top quality.

a video DSP for real time video effects
a real time audio stereo digitizer, 4 I/O channels
a audio mixer & audio DSP for real time audio effects
