Posting Procedures
Organizations may submit information to be posted in the Career Center. At least two copies of each posting must be submitted. All postings will be mounted on bulletin boards in a designated section.
Job postings can be as creative as you would like, but they should follow a few simple guidelines:
Size cannot exceed 11 inches x 17 inches.
SIGGRAPH 97 logo cannot appear on the posting.
To create a posting, use materials that can be hung on a bulletin board using push pins.
Organizations may bring their job postings directly to the Career Center or send them by 18 July to:
SIGGRAPH 97 Conference Management
Attn.: Career Center Staff
401 North Michigan Avenue
Chicago, Illinois 60611 USA
If an organization provides additional copies of the job posting, the Career Center will distribute to job seekers requesting a copy. Please note these copies cannot exceed 8.5 inches x 11 inches. Organizations are responsible for keeping enough copies available to handle job seeker requests.
Job seekers may also choose to drop off copies of their résumés for specific jobs that have been posted. Each organization posting a job should check the Career Center periodically to pick up any résumés left for the organization.
Posting by Job Seekers
Job seekers will also be posting their résumés for review. If job seekers provide additional copies of their résumés, the Career Center will keep them on file and distribute them to organizations that request a copy. Job seekers are responsible for making sure enough copies are available. Resumes are posted by these categories:
Educator | Engineer |
Film/Video/Animator | Graphic/Fine Artist |
Multimedia | Scientist/Researcher |
Software Developer/Analyst | Other |
Inquiry Procedures
Résumé request forms will be distributed in the Career Center to organizations posting a job if requested. A form must be completed in order to receive a résumé. If time permits, orders will be filled immediately.
After the conference, SIGGRAPH 97 Conference Management will compile a photocopied book of all résumés collected. Exhibitors and non-exhibitors that have paid the service fee can purchase the book for $US 250. Please contact Conference Management at siggraph97@siggraph.org if you are interested in purchasing this book.
Interview Rooms & Scheduling
Interview rooms will be available for potential employees to meet with job seekers. Organizations may schedule up to two hours of time to interview potential employees. Sign-up sheets will be located in the Career Center beginning at 7 pm on 2 August. A VCR and monitor will be available in one interview room to view demo reels.
The Career Center will also assist organizations in scheduling interviews. Once a block of time has been reserved, an interview sign-up sheet for job seekers will be available in the Career Center. Representatives from organizations can pick up the schedule prior to their time slots.
Location
The Career Center and interview rooms are located in Kentia Hall in the Los Angeles Convention Center.
