Note: This issue appears on system boards that are pre-Aladdin and Zappa systems.
The Western DigitalTM 2.5 GB IDE Hard Drive, part number HDDIDE018AAWW, is not being recognized with automatic settings in CMOS. If the hard disk is set to User Defined, the correct size is shown in CMOS. However, the drive only shows a capacity of 504 MB when FDISKED.
The Western Digital 2.5 GB IDE Hard Drives are not supported on older motherboards. The oldest motherboards that will support the 2.5 GB IDE Hard Drive are the Aladdin and Zappa motherboards with 1.00.10BROT and 1.00.11BSOT BIOS. All motherboards newer than these will also support this hard drive.
