EZ-Pad Not Working Correctly When Set for Left-Handed User


Issue: When the Gateway SoloTM's EZ-PadTM mouse is set for a left-handed user (so that a primary click is the right button), the pad itself still functions as the left mouse button.

Resolution: Download, from Alps BBS, a file called GPOINT19.EXE. The Alps BBS number is 408-432-6424. Follow the instructions below to install this file.

  1. Format a 3.5" High Density Disk (1.44M).
  2. From an MS-DOS® prompt, go to the directory where the file located. Type GPOINT19.EXE A:
  3. Use the diskette that was just created. Click Start, Run, and A:\Install.exe.
  4. After it gets done installing, restart Windows 95.
  5. Go into the Control Panel. Click on the Buttons tab. Set the mouse for a left-handed mouse.
  6. In Control Panel, go to the General Tab, and click on Options.
  7. Click on the Orientation tab. Click on the "Set Buttons" button. Click the right mouse button for the primary mouse button, and click the left mouse button for the secondary mouse button.
  8. Press OK, and then Apply.
