How to Install the TelePath II Modem in Windows 95

After Windows 95 has been installed there are two ways to setup the TelePath II (Gateway part numbers: FAXMODEMR, MODISA001AAUS, & MODISA001ABUS). Perform one of the following sets of instructions to install the TelePath:




  • Go to Control Panel and open the Modems icon. If there are no modems installed, the Add New Modem wizard automatically begins. If a modem has already been installed, click on the Add button to start the Add New Modem wizard.
  • Click the Next button to begin the detection process. The detection should take approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once Windows 95 has detected the modem, click the Next button.
  • Click the Finish button to complete installation.



  • Go to Control Panel and open the Modems icon. If there are no modems currently installed, the Add New Modem wizard will automatically start. If a modem has already been installed Click on the Add button to start the Add New Modem wizard.
  • Place a check in the box next to Don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list and then click the Next button.
  • Select Gateway 2000 from the list of Manufacturers. After Gateway 2000 is selected, scroll down the list of models to the Gateway 2000 TelePath II,14400 Internal and then select it from the list.
  • Click the Next button.
  • You will now be prompted to select the port to use with this modem. Select the Communications port in which the modem is installed and then click the Next button.
  • Click the Finish button to complete the installation.
