How to Install the Multimedia Sequel Bundle CD

This document contains installation instructions for each of the CDs in the Multimedia Sequel Bundle. Because some of these games are played in Windows 3.x and some are played in MS-DOS, notations are included for each CD title. This document assumes that the CD-ROM drive letter is D:.

SimCity Enhanced

This game is installed and played through MS-DOS. Make sure that you exit Windows completely before installing or playing this game. Make sure that the CD is in the CD-ROM drive before attempting to play this application.

  1. Insert the SimCity CD in the CD-ROM drive. At the C:\> prompt in DOS, type:

    d:

    and press Enter. At the D:\> prompt, type:

    install

    and press Enter to begin the installation.
  2. The SimCity CD-ROM Setup/Configuration Program screen will appear on the screen. At the bottom of the screen is the destination directory of C:\SIMCITY for the game. Press Enter to accept this default answer and continue. At the bottom of the screen, the percentage completed will appear. When the software is finished copying, press Enter to continue.
  3. The next screen contains information on what the installation process is going to ask you about your system. Once you read through this screen, press Enter to continue.
  4. The next screen displays the information about the system. Press Enter to accept the current information and begin the game. Make your selection from the choices on the SimCity screen. Consult the help files for information on playing this game.
  5. To play this game, at the C:\> prompt outside of Windows, type:

    cd simcity

    and press Enter. At the C:\SIMCITY> prompt, type:

    simcity

    and press Enter. When finished playing the game, press the Ctrl and the X keys on the keyboard, then press the Y key to acknowledge that you want to exit.

Cyberia

This game is installed and played through MS-DOS. Make sure that you exit Windows completely before installing or playing this game. Make sure that the CD is in the CD-ROM drive before attempting to play this application.

  1. Insert the Cyberia CD in the CD-ROM drive. At the C:\> prompt, type:

    d:

    and press Enter. At the D:\> prompt, type:

    setup

    and press Enter to begin the installation process.
  2. From the CYBERIA CD-ROM Setup Utility screen, use the arrow keys to highlight English and press Enter. On the next screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Install CYBERIA and press Enter. The screen will momentarily blank as the installation program initializes.
  3. At the bottom of the Cyberia Installation screen the destination directory of C:\CYBERIA appears. Press Enter to accept this default answer. The box will display the files as they copy to the hard drive.
  4. Once the installation is complete, you will be at the C:\CYBERIA> prompt. To begin the game, at the C:\CYBERIA> prompt, type:

    cyberia

    and press Enter. On the initial screen, use the arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight English and press Enter. Type a name or an identifier in the Identification box. Highlight the Arcade, Maze, and Difficulty level you wish and press Enter to start the game. When finished playing the game, press the ESC key on the keyboard and use the arrow keys to highlight Quit in the Control box.

The 7th Guest

This game is installed and played through MS-DOS. Make sure that you exit Windows completely before installing or playing this game. Make sure that the CD is in the CD-ROM drive before attempting to play this application.

  1. Insert The 7th Guest CD number Two in the CD-ROM drive. At the C:\> prompt in DOS, type:

    d:

    and press Enter. At the D:\> prompt, type:

    install

    and press Enter to begin the game installation.
  2. The 7th Guest Setup and Installation Program screen will appear. Press Enter when finished reading the initial message. The next screen highlights C: local drive for the destination drive of the game. Press Enter to accept this default answer.
  3. The next screen displays the directory of C:\ID\T7G\ for the default directory for the game. Press Enter to accept this default answer.
  4. The next screen displays the CD-ROM drive speed that the game tests for. Press Enter to continue. The next screen informs you that the game will test the video performance of the system. Once you read this screen, press Enter to begin the tests. The screen will briefly flash, then the Video Speed screen will be displayed. Press Enter to continue. Highlight the recommended setting of SVGA for the video and press Enter.
  5. The following screen prompts you for the type of sound card in the system. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight Sound Blaster or compatibles and press Enter to select it. The next screen prompts you for the PORT Address of the sound card. Use the arrow keys to highlight 220 and press Enter to select it. The next screen prompts you for the Interrupt Setting (IRQ) setting. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight 5 and press Enter to select it. The next screen displays the current settings. Make sure that Accept these Settings is highlighted and press Enter to continue.
  6. The screen will display the file names as they are copied to the hard drive. When the installation is complete, you will be at the C:\ID\T7G> prompt in DOS.
  7. To begin the game, at the C:\ID\T7G> prompt in DOS, type:

    t7g

    and press Enter to begin the game.

70 Million Households Phone Book

This application is installed and run through Windows 3.x. Make sure that the CD is in the CD-ROM drive before attempting to play this application.

  1. Insert the 70 Million Households Phone Book CD in the CD-ROM drive. From the Program Manager in Windows, click the word File, then click on the word Run. In the Command Line box, type:

    d:\setup

    and click on OK to begin the installation.
  2. On the Installation Location screen, C:\HOUSE95 appears highlighted in the box. Click the OK button to accept this default directory location. As the software installs to the hard drive, a percentage bar displays in the center of the screen. The screen will briefly blank out as Windows is restarted.
  3. To begin the program, double click on the 70 Million Households Phone Bk group in the Program Manager. Make sure the CD is in the CD-ROM drive. Double click on the 70 Million Households Phone Book icon.

Consumer Survival Guide

This application is installed and run through Windows 3.x. Make sure that the CD is in the CD-ROM drive before attempting to play this application.

  1. Insert the Consumer Survival Kit CD in the CD-ROM drive. From the Program Manager, click on the word File, then click on the word Run. In the Command Line box type:

    d:\setup

    and click on the OK button to begin the installation.
  2. The Consumer Survival Kit Setup window will appear on the screen. The first screen shows C:\CSK as the installation directory for the software. Click on the Continue button to accept this default answer. A percentage bar appears on the screen as the software is copied to the hard drive. When the installation is complete, click on OK to return to Windows.
  3. To access this program, double click on the Clark Howard group in the Program Manager to open it. Double click on the Consumer Survival Kit to start the program.

Rand McNally Trip Maker

This application is installed and run through Windows 3.x. Make sure that the CD is in the CD-ROM drive before attempting to play this application.

  1. Insert the Rand McNally Trip Maker CD in the CD-ROM drive. From the Program Manager, click on the word File, then click on the word Run. In the Command Line box type:

    d:\setup

    and click on the OK button to begin the installation.
  2. The Welcome window will appear on the screen. Click on the Continue button to proceed. The Type of CD-ROM Installation screen appears next. Make sure that Hard disk installation is selected, then click on the OK button to continue. A message appears informing you that the program is working. This may take a few moments.
  3. The Installation Path window contains the directory of C:\TRPMAKER for the default directory for the software. Click on OK to accept this default answer. The next screen informs you that the Directory Doesn’t Exist. Click on Yes for the installation process to create it.
  4. In the Type of Installation window, make sure that Complete installation is highlighted and click on OK to continue. The Last Chance to Exit window will then appear. Click on Continue to proceed with the software installation. As the files are copied to the hard drive a percentage bar will appear in the upper right hand side of the screen.
  5. The next window prompts you to Enter Serial Number. This number is located on the pamphlet in the jewel case that the CD came in. Enter the number and click on OK to continue.
  6. The Installing icons to Program Manager screen prompts you for the group name and icons to install. Click on the Select All button on the lower left side of the window, then click on OK to continue. The screen will briefly return to Windows as the group and icons are added to the Program Manager.
  7. The Congratulations screen appears. Click on the NO button to view the README file later and return to Windows. To open the application, double click on the Rand McNally TripMaker group in the Program Manager. Double click on the Rand McNally TripMaker icon to start the application.

Weekend Home Project

This application is installed and run through Windows 3.x. Make sure that the CD is in the CD-ROM drive before attempting to play this application.

  1. Insert the Weekend Home Project CD in the CD-ROM drive. From the Program Manager, click on the word File, then click on the word Run. In the Command Line box type:

    d:\setup

    and click on the OK button to begin the installation.
  2. The Quicktime for Windows Installation window will appear on the screen. Once you read through the information on the screen, click on the Yes button to begin the installation procedure. The Installation Location window contains the path of C:\QTW for the software. Click on OK to accept this default answer and continue. A percentage bar will appear briefly on the screen as the files are copied to the hard drive.
  3. Once the files finish copying to the hard drive, the Weekend Home Projects Installed! window will appear. Click on OK to acknowledge this message. The final message prompts you to reboot the system so the application can run. Click on the Yes button and the computer will reboot.
  4. To open the application, double click on the Hometime group in the Program Manager. Double click on the Weekend Home Projects icon to start the program.

How to Install Tuneland

This program requires Microsoft Windows for installation and playing the game. Make sure that the CD is in the CD-ROM drive before attempting to play this application.

  1. Insert the Tuneland CD in your CD-ROM drive, label side up. From the Program Manager, click on the word File, then click on Run. On the Command Line, type

    d:\setup.exe

    and click on OK to begin the installation.
  2. A screen titled 7th LEVEL Setup will appear. Click on the Continue button to begin the installation. The Installation Options window will appear next. Make sure that Quick Installation is selected and click on the Continue button. Once the installation is complete, the Installation Message screen will appear. Once you read through the information on the screen, click on the OK button to return to windows.
  3. To access the game, insert the Tuneland CD in your CD-ROM drive, label side up. Double click on the 7th Level group in the Program Manager. Double click on the Tuneland icon to enter the game.
