Gateway 2000 leads in PC brand loyalty
IDC/ACNielsen survey ranks Gateway highest of any PC vendor in home market
This is the highest ranking of any major personal computer manufacturer from the approximately 40,000 consumers surveyed. Only one competitor was rated above the 40th percentile.
"Customer satisfaction is extremely important to the people of Gateway 2000," said Bob Spears, senior vice president of Gateway’s Americas group. "These results are extremely gratifying since we are always striving to improve the total customer experience."
The joint research project of IDC and AC Nielsen quantifies and characterizes the 1997 market for personal computers, related equipment and selected consumer electronic systems in US households.
"Our build-to-order business model allows us to stay in direct contact with our customers. That means our sales, technical support and customer services must meet the needs of each individual Gateway owner," said Spears. "Our customers obviously appreciate what we do and we appreciate our customers."
