Targeted at power users and commercial customers with a need for high-end desktop performance and scalability, a well equipped G6-2002 system with a single processor is priced at $3,849. The G6-2002 is a dual-processor capable Pentium Pro 200 system utilizing integrated ultra-wide SCSI interface, 10/100 fast Ethernet networking, 16-bit business audio subsystem and flexible memory and storage capabilities. Housed in Gateway’s 10 bay tower case, the platform’s expansion capabilities include four external 5.25" drive bays, one external 3.5" bay and five internal drive bays. Memory is expandable to 512MB through the use of EDO DIMMs, which provide increased reliability for critical applications by taking advantage of the ECC included in Intel’s FX 440 Chipset.
Built-to-order and available now, a G6-2002 configured with 64MB of parity EDO memory, 4 GB SCSI hard drive, 12X SCSI CD-ROM, a single 200MHz Pentium processor with 256 KB internal cache, ATI Rage II Video with 4 MB SGRAM, a 17" (15.9" viewable) monitor, an American Power Conversion UPS 650 uninterruptable power supply, Windows NT 4.0 and MS Office 97, Small Business Edition plus Bookshelf® 96, is priced at just $3,849. The upgrade to a second Pentium Pro processor adds just $599.
