Description: Be Basics includes the two programs you use everyday, a word processor and a spreadsheet. The Word Processor, BeatWare Writer, offers much of the formatting control previously available only in professional desk-top publishing software. The full-featured spreadsheet, Sum-It, was created by Dutch developer Maarten Hekkelman, and makes an excellent complement to Writer. Use it to create tables and graphs that can be easily dragged and dropped into Writer documents for effective reports and presentations.

Description: The BeOS comes with a very nice integrated database, but
the silly thing is that it comes only with an API for
creating tables. dBed is a GUI for the creation of APIs, in
the style of Microsoft Access (albeit a lot simpler)
that takes full advantage of BeOS' features, such as
table inheritance, add-ons and datatypes. It will also
provide a mechanism for transferring tables from one BeBox
to another.
