Info Last Modified: 7/8/97 Requires BeOS version: PR License: Shareware Cost: Unknown Source Available?: No |
Description: Arcana is an object-oriented role-playing
game engine for creating tile-based (like
Ultima ][ through Ultima V) games,
featuring an embedded programming language
(Python), 32-bit graphics, multithreaded
actor AI and lots more. Arcana will let
almost anyone create their own computer
role-playing games in any genre (Fantasy,
Science-fiction, Horror, Wild West,
whatever) and should be usable by people
with little or no programming experience,
without limiting ace coders. Unfortunately,
it's still in the design stage... although
that should change this summer!

Bosses are NOW being ported STRAIGHT from the original PC
version.
DATELINE - October 30, 1993: All the pumpkins of the world cower in fear again, as another
Halloween approaches. As always, they are destined to be
culinarily transformed into grotesque icons of a pagan
tradition. Their only hope was to steal all of Earth's candles
and take them away to the distant pumpkin planet, Pumpkinia.
DATELINE - November 4, 1993: Despite tremendous security measures, the pumpkins succeeded
and now Earth has no candles. If the power goes out, everybody
is SCREWED. The only hope is Bouapha, the Gourdslayer. He hops
into the specially designed TX-34Z Rocket Ship and blasts off
for the Zeta Toejam star system. CAN BOUAPHA AND HIS MIGHTY HAMMERS OVERCOME THE PUMPKINS!?

Pleco Flight Simulator | |
Version: 1.0 By: Michael Love E-mail: pleco@macconnect.com Web page: (none) Release Date: Late Summer '97 |
Info Last Modified: 5/22/97 Requires BeOS version: AA:PR License: Shareware Cost: $10 Source Available?: No |
Description: For DR9 (no option in entry form for that). A flight simulator
about the graphic level of Flight Unlimited, but with the cool
navigation and control features of Micro$oft Flight Simulator.
Will use satellite images from EROS (part of USGS) with actual
elevations and even the actual airport graphics for the areas
it covers (major metropolitan ones, Chicago, Boston, New York,
and a bunch of places in California). The areas are connected,
however, though there aren't any airports outside of them.
All the usual extras, ILS, VOR, Air Traffic Control, along with
lots of viewpoints (of course), and a special new feature that
gives you actual pilot-like assignments (as if you were a real
commercial pilot). Currently I've just about finished the design and am waiting
for DR9 to start coding. Graphics are just some 3D models I'll
do on a particularly lazy weekend, and the EROS things I can
download when needed. Looks pretty cool from the plans.

Splook | |
Version: 1.0 By: Gregory Weston E-mail: bastion1@netcom.com Web page: (none) Release Date: August 97 |
Info Last Modified: 7/18/97 Requires BeOS version: PR License: Shareware Cost: Source Available?: Yes |
Description: Splook is a board game originally based on the upright
arcade game Ataxx. Similar (but very stripped-down)
games appeared as a puzzle in T7G and a standalone game
called Spot. On top of the basic "own the board"
gameplay, we've added several options that make gameplay
more "interesting," modem and TCP/IP support, and plug-in
computer players (programmer docs included). Splook is being
implemented from a single spec by appropriately experienced
people on 8 platforms, so it should look and behave
correctly on each system but still be interoperable among
them. It's a good way to pass 5-10 minutes at a stretch.
I'm expecting the BeOS source to be available; at minimum
the sprite engine.
