Description: The BeBox is a great platform for VR applications, with the
GeekPort, four serial ports and a great I/O system. However,
VR uses a large number of devices, such as position trackers,
instrumented gloves, 3D pucks etc. DevServer provides a
uniform interface for all of these devices, providing a
number of streams users can subscribe to get messages from
a particular device connected to the BeBox.
New devices can be added as add-ons. DevServer will initially
come with add-ons for the PowerGlove with PGSI box, the 5th
Glove, and the Ascension Flock-of-birds tracker.
DevServer will also have applications in other areas
requiring access to similar devices, e.g. technology for
the disabled.

Description: A collection of some of my handy BeOS classes, to help speed up the task of programming for BeOS. This will feature the Benaphore and ColorMap classes that I released for DR8, plus several new classes: Snoozer (lets a thread sleep for a time, but also wake up early), an indexing class for manipulating the indexes on BVolumes, and several pool classes for limiting the number of threads, BLoopers or whatever a process can start... plus more! libCh will also grow as I create more and more BeOS software. Another benefit is the extensive and excellent documentation (online, and in PostScript form if you want to print), complete with index.
