Boolean Subtract Fails, Leaves Outline of Tool

Product: Lightwave

Platforms: Amiga Intel Alpha MIPS Macintosh

Problem: On attempt to do a Boolean Subtract operation, the target object is not cut, but polygons are created on the object surface in the outline of the cutting tool.

This will happen if the user is attempting to do Booleans with objects which are made of double-sided polygons. Booleans only work on objects made with single-sided polygons. The Options button on the Objects menu has the control for choosing to create objects using single-sided or double-sided polygons.
