Issue: The Windows® 95 Event Sounds are slow and dragging with the Ensoniq® SoundscapeTM Plug and Play Sound Card, part number SNDCRD006ABWW. The system receives an error message stating Soundscape processor not responding when going to MS-DOS mode.FYI: These symptoms are seen only with a sound card with the part number SNDCRD006ABWW. Check your invoice to verify that this is the sound card which was shipped with your computer. Also verify that you have the correct software for this card. This card is compatible with either SNDDSX008ABWW and SNDDSX008ACWW. Follow the steps below.
Follow the steps below.
- Uninstall the Ensoniq Soundscape software.
- Verify the Soundscape directory has been deleted from the root directory.
- Go to the Windows\System directory, and delete the following files if any are there: SCOPE.COD, SNDSCAPE.CO0, SNDSCAPE.CO1, SNDSCAPE.CO2, SNDSCAPE.CO3, SNDSCAPE.CO4, SNDSCAPE.INI, SNDSCAPE.VXD, and SNDSCP95.DRV.
- Go to Windows\Inf directory, and delete the OEMX.INF for the Ensoniq Soundscape. The X will be a number, such as 0 or 1, depending how many OEM files there are. There will probably be several OEMX.INF files. Open them until the one referring to the Ensoniq Soundscape is located. It is possible to have more than one for the Ensoniq. So check all files.
- Re-install the Software from the diskettes.
