Issue: On an Aries non-integrated motherboard (part number MBDPCI003AXWW) with BIOS version 4.04.5, the clock stops during power saving and does not start again until the system comes out of power saving mode.

Resolution:

The following instructions resolve this issue in Windows^® for Workgroups 3.11.

1. In the CONFIG.SYS, load POWER.EXE.
2. Set the CMOS with the following recommendations:
   Set Suspend Mode to "Disabled".
   Set Advanced APM to "Disabled".
   Set Standby Mode to the time out period you feel is appropriate.
3. For "Windows Setup", choose MS-DOS System with APM.

The following instructions resolve this issue in Windows 95.

1. Set the CMOS with the following recommendations.
   Set Suspend Mode to the time out period you feel is appropriate.
   Set Advanced APM to "Enabled".
   Set Standby Mode to "Disabled".
   
2. For "Windows Setup", make sure there is an APM section under the System section in Device Manager.
