Unnecessary Roughness ‘95 in Windows95 with Creative Labs Vibra 16 Plug and Play Sound Card

No problems were found with this combination of hardware and software in testing done by the Gateway 2000 Tech Lab. The detection of the sound card worked fine for the test, but the software installation may not always pickup on the correct settings for the sound card. The settings for the sound card can be found using the following procedure:

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Double click System.
3. Choose the Device Manager tab.
4. Choose the Sound, Video and Game controllers options.
5. This will display the installed Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 Plug and Play.
6. Click the Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 Plug and Play, then click Properties.
7. Click the Resources tab. This will display the settings for the card. You may want to write them down, for future reference.

The settings that were used during testing are listed below:

Sound Blaster ASP/16-bit stereo
Port: 220
IRQ: 5
DMA: 5
Midi: OPL3
