Because there are not yet any protected mode drivers for the 16MVLCARD and LMSI CM206 CD-ROM these 2 hardware components are not recognized during detection, and their applets do not function inside Windows 95.
To work around this issue, use the real-mode drivers for both of these components:
If your sound card and CD-ROM Drive were working correctly in Windows 3.x, after upgrading to Windows 95 you will have to edit the following files and make sure the lines listed below are in them, and they do not have a REM - by Windows 95 Setup - in front of them.
AUTOEXEC.BAT:
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H3 T4 C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MVCD001 /M:12 /VCONFIG.SYS:
DEVICE=C:\JAZZ\JAZZ.SYS P220 I5 D1 E3 T330 Q2 DEVICE=C:\JAZZ\DD260.SYS /D:MVCD001 /F:1If your CD-ROM and Sound Card did NOT work in Windows 3.x or if you are adding these components to a system that is already running Windows 95, you will need to run the installation program found on the drivers diskette. This can be run from a MS-DOS prompt by typing A:install.
