Installing the Sanyo 3 - Disc Changer CD-ROM
Virtual Device Driver In Windows 95

If all three drives of the Sanyo 3-Disc Changer are seen in My Computer but only the first drive letter is accessible, the protected mode driver will need to be installed.

To Resolve this Issue:

  • Download the Sanyo 3-disc CD-ROM Win'95 driver from the Gateway 2000 BBS, it can be found in the CD-ROM section.
  • Copy all the files extracted from this archive (except for the README.TXT) to the "\windows\system\ioubsys" directory of the system. Be sure to remove the old SANYO3.VXD if it happens to be installed, otherwise it will conflict with the operation of the TORISAN3VXD.
  • Restart the system in order for the new driver to be recognized.
  • Secondary click on My Computer. A menu will appear on-screen.
  • Click Properties from the menu.
  • Click on the Device Manager tab.
  • Double click on the CD-ROM icon.
  • Double click on the Torisan CD_ROM CDR-C3G.
  • Click Settings.
  • Remove the check next to Auto-Insert Notification.
  • Close out of Device Manager, My Computer.

NOTES:

  • Steps (4-11) are optional, these steps disable the Auto-Insert Notification. Gateway recommends that these steps be included because when running more than one CD in the cartridge the drive cycles endlessly .
  • When correctly installed, the Device Manager will display three Torisan CD-ROM CDR-C3G drives.
