Printer Troubleshooting
If you are unable to print, check the following:
- Make sure that the printer is connected, on-line, and loaded with paper.
- Check to ensure that the port to which the printer is connected is set up properly. Normally, ports are enabled in the CMOS setup. Refer to the System User's Guide for information on how to enable or configure the port being used.
- Check to ensure that the port device is functioning under Windows 95, using the following steps:
- Click Start, click Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the System icon. The System Properties dialog displays.
- Click the Device Manager tab. If a port is not functioning, it is displayed in the list of devices with a yellow circle and exclamation point over the device icon. Double-click on this icon.
- In the Port Properties dialog, click the Resources tab. Click the Set Configuration Manually button. If the Set Configuration Manually button is not present, the device is properly installed.
- The Conflicting Device List displays any resource conflicts.
Depending on the nature of the resource conflict, a device may need to be reconfigured.
If you are unable to troubleshoot the printer further, contact the printer vendor for additional support.
