How to Install Toshiba 8x and 12x IDE CD-ROM Drivers
This document contains installation instructions for the Toshiba 8x and 12x IDE CD-ROM drivers. The only time these drivers need to be installed is if the hard driver is formatted, if the CD-ROM files become corrupt, if the AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS file is deleted, or if the CD-ROM driver directory is deleted.
Installation instructions
- Insert the Toshiba 8x or 12x IDE CD-ROM Boot Disk, that was received with the computer, into the A: drive. Exit Windows and reboot the computer, or power the computer on. The computer boots to the diskette in the A: drive. A message appears on the screen. Once you read the instructions, press Enter to continue.
- The Main Menu screen appears. Press the number 2 at the top of the keyboard to Install CD-ROM drivers onto Hard disk. The CD-ROM driver Installation screen appears. Press the C key on the keyboard to continue.
- The next screen displays the files that are copied to the hard drive as well as the files that are modified and backed up. At the bottom of the screen, the installation complete message is displayed. Press Enter to continue to the next screen.
- The Installation Complete screen informs you the CD-ROM drive should now work. Press Enter to return to the Main Menu screen. Press the 4 key at the top of the keyboard to Exit the program.
- A message appears reminding you to remove the diskette form the A: drive and reboot. Remove the Boot Disk and reboot the computer to finish the driver installation.
