- Insert the first Matrox WMB SGRAM Video Card Drivers disk for Windows 3.11 in the A: drive. From the Program Manager, click the word File in the upper left hand corner of the screen, then click the word Run that appears on the menu. In the Command Line box, type:
and click the OK button. The setup process begins by prompting for the installation language. Click the language choice, then click the OK button to continue.

- The next window displays the destination path for the Utilities. Click the OK button to accept the default directory of C:\MGA\SETUP and continue. The next window contains the destination path for the PowerDesk Software. Click the OK button to accept the default directory of C:\MGA\CPANEL and continue.
- The setup program copies files to the hard drive. When prompted, insert disk 2 in the floppy drive, then click the OK button to continue. Setup asks if the DCI driver should be enabled. Click the Yes button to install this driver file.
Note: The DCI (Display Control Interface) driver will accelerate the playback of QuickTime‚, AVI, and MPEG files if the video player applications support DCI.
- A message appears with information regarding Video for Windows 1.1D® upgrade. If this utility is not loaded, it can be found on the Gateway 2000 System CD. Click the OK button to proceed.
- The next window prompts you to select and test the display mode on the computer. Click the OK button to continue.
Note: If the monitor being used is a Plug & Play monitor, a message may appear stating that the use of the Monitor Selection program is not recommended. Click the Cancel button to bypass the Monitor Selection program. Proceed to step 8 to complete the installation.
- The MGA Monitor Selection screen appears if a Plug & Play monitor is not being used. Click the Selection button to choose a monitor. Once you select the monitor type, click the OK button to return to the previous screen. When you are satisfied with the monitor selection, click the Save and Exit button to continue.
- The Startup Display Mode screen appears. Select a Resolution and Pixel Depth from the choices on the screen. Once you are satisfied with the selections, click the OK button to continue. The next window suggestions that the on-line help be read before using the applications. Click the OK button to continue.
- The installation is now complete. For the changes to take effect, the system must be rebooted. Click the Yes button to restart the computer. Remove the floppy disk from the A: drive and click the OK button to continue. When you re-enter Windows, the MGA PowerDesk group is displayed on the Program Manager.
