How to Install the STB 2MB Powergraph Video Drivers

This document contains step-by-step instructions for installing the STB 2MB Powergraph video drivers. Follow these instructions whenever you need to reinstall the drivers.

DOS Installation Procedure:

1. Insert the DOS Utilities diskette into the A: drive. At the A:\> prompt, type:

   stbsetup

   and press Enter.
2. The first screen contains information about what functions the installation program performs. Once you have read this screen, press Enter to continue.
3. The next screen has two settings on it. When Powergraph Pro PCI is highlighted, press the space bar to change the answer on the right hand side from NO to YES. Once this is completed press the Enter key to continue.
4. The next screen prompts you for the directory for the video drivers. The default answer of C:\STBUTIL is fine. Press Enter to accept this answer.
5. As the files are copied to the hard drive; the file names appear on the screen. Once the installation is complete, press Enter to return to the C:\> prompt.

Windows Installation Procedure:

1. This installation is performed from within Windows. Insert disk number 2 of STB 864 Powergraph diskettes labeled Windows 3.1 Drivers into the A: drive. From the Program Manager, click on File, then click on Run. On the command line type:

   a:\setup

   and press Enter to begin the installation.
2. An installation screen titled STB Winstall appears on the screen. This screen contains the directory for the video drivers will install into: C:\STBUTIL. Press Enter to accept this default and continue with the installation.
3. Once the drivers are finished leading, a screen appears to confirm that the drivers loaded successfully. Click on the OK button to continue.
4. A group called STB Winstall appears in Program Manager. Inside this group is an icon also called STB Winstall. You may use this icon to change the screen size and number of colors any time that you need to.

Monitor selection procedure

1. From the C;:\> prompt outside of Windows, type: cd\stbutil and press Enter.
2. At the C:\STBUTIL prompt type:

   monitor

   and press Enter. A list of monitors appears on your screen. Once you find your monitor on the list, type that corresponding number and press Enter. Your monitor is now setup and synchronized with your video.
3. If your monitor is not on the list of available monitors, at the C:\STBUTIL prompt type:

   s3refresh

   and press Enter. This brings up a chart-type screen where you can use your mouse to select your monitorís applicable refresh rates for each resolution. Once you have selected your refresh rates, press the ESC key or click on the word EXIT in the upper-left-hand corner of the screen to exit out of the program.
4. You need to reboot your system in order for the drivers to finish loading and for your monitor to properly synchronize with your video.
