Driver installation procedure:
- Before beginning installation of these drivers, you must first boot clean. If you do not know how to do this, see "How to Boot Clean" which explains the procedure in detail.
- Once you have booted clean, place the diskette labeled Gateway 2000 Driver Disk 16 Bit-Audio (16MV card) in the A: or applicable drive. Type in A: or B: and press Enter. At the prompt type:
and press the Enter key on the keyboard to begin the installation.
installs- The first screen is titled Jazz Quick Start Installation. With the arrow keys on the keyboard, highlight Install Software and Setup Hardware and press Enter.
- This screen prompts you for the destination directory. The default answer will be C:\G2KAUDIO. Press Enter to accept this default and continue.
- Another window will appear and ask you if you have Windows 3.1 on your system. Press the Y key on the keyboard to continue.
- The next screen will ask you the directory that windows is installed in. The default is C:\WINDOWS. (If Windows is at a different location, make the modification here.) Press Enter to continue. Setup will then begin copying files and take you into another screen which contains the settings for the sound card.
- The default settings on this screen should be ok. At the bottom of the screen it asks you to modify the C:\DOS system files and the C:\WINDOWS system files. The default answers for both are yes. Press Enter to continue.
- Once the installation is complete, you will be prompted to press F3 to exit Setup. Remove the diskette from the drive and reboot the system for the drivers installation to be complete. This installation also loads the Sony double speed CD-ROM drivers.
