The Gateway 2000 Information Systems Department consists of over 300 professionals in development centers worldwide. This group is responsible for providing Gateway 2000 with the best technology to serve our customers.

The IS infrastructure includes multiple, large-scale AS/400 systems, HP/9000 systems, and lots of Gateway 2000 PCs. Major IS project areas include: Manufacturing, Customer Interface, Network Control, Global Integration, Marketing, Voice Communications and Engineering.

Gateway 2000 is committed to client-server technology. Internal languages are C++ and RPG. Databases are large-scale within AS/400 and Sybase environments. Servers and users are linked worldwide with sophisticated high-speed networking. Gateway 2000 has been an early user of technology from major suppliers such as Microsoft.
