This file describes the CrossDOS demo. Only some of utilities in the commercial product are distributed in the demo version.
The demo is a READ ONLY version of the CrossDOS FileSystem. It also will only allow access to the floppy drives. Access to Hard Drives have been disabled.
Requirements to operate this DEMO:
AmigaDOS 2.0 or higher
---AND--- Standard Amiga drive to access MS-DOS 720K disks.
---OR--- Amiga high-density drive to access MS-DOS
1.44M and 720K disks.
If you enjoy the demo product and would like to order the full
version of CrossDOS, please use the "Order_Form" program.
Fill out all the information and send it to the mailing address
for CONSULTRON which is displayed at the end of the "Order_Form"
program. Prices are listed on main CrossDOS page.
To run the CrossDOS demo, double-click on the Mount'Em icon. This
will mount the floppy drives as PC0:, PC1:, PC2: and PC3:. (Please
keep the files together since this demo requires it).

There are some support utilities that are included with the CrossDOS product. The utilities and a brief description are:
CrossDOS commodity-The CrossDOS commodity allows the user to optionally translate MS-DOS text characters to or from Amiga text characters or strip/add end-of-line carriage returns to MS-DOS text.
ConfigDisk - A utility to configure CrossDOS devices. It can create a mountfile describing the MS-DOS disk to the Amiga OS. It is used primarily to configure MS-DOS hard drives.
DiskChk - This utility attempts to check and read validity of any disk and report any errors.
DiskChg - This utility forces a disk change on the specified device. This command is useful for forcing a disk change on some remove hard drive partitions which lack the hardware or software supporting automatic disk changes.
Dr_CrossDOS - Dr_CrossDOS is designed to help you diagnose possible problems using CrossDOS should the need arise.
Also included are Mount, Format, and DiskCopy
which can replace older system utilities.
Once CrossDOS is mounted, it should automatically sense any MS-DOS you insert in one of the Amiga floppy drives. You can then use i as you would the devices DF0:, DF1:, DF2: or DF2:.
Please note: This version of CrossDOS supports the 8.3 file and
directory naming convention of MS-DOS.
